National Nutrition Month

March is National Nutrition Month!

Vida Senior Centers puts a strong emphasis on nutrition education for seniors. This month Vida will share recipes, instructions and tips with seniors to help them with having an optimized diet and healthy body.

“Good nutrition is extremely important throughout our lives and especially for the elderly. As we age several changes happen to our bodies and we may need more nutrients (protein, calcium) and fewer calories. Proper nutrition is paramount in preventing and controlling chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular problems and preventing hospital visits. We cannot talk about nutrition without talking about food. Food nourishes the body help create bonds and social connection. At Vida Senior Centers we honor and embrace the power of healthy food and we are destined to teach our seniors how to eat well and live healthier. Let’s celebrate Nutrition Month by eating well and dancing daily!”
