Vida Seniors Centers in collaboration with the DC Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs and the Golden Scissors Hair Salon officially wrapped up the joint six-month project to improve seniors’ mental health and self-esteem through personal care. The project provided the seniors with professional haircuts to lift their spirits.

As stated by the National Alliance on Mental Illness, only 35.1% of Hispanic/Latinx adults with mental illness receive treatment each year. The U.S. average is 46.2%.
